Dr. Bryan Albrechtis the Interim Executive Director at the Wisconsin Technical College District Boards Association. Hehas dedicated his career to improving the lives of those he serves through a 38-year career in education as a teacher, as a state administrator for the Wisconsin Department of Education and through his 16 years as President of Gateway Technical College. Bryan has been instrumental in raising the dignity of technical education at the local, state, national and international level through his leadership and service. Cornerstone to his legacy is establishing a national model for business and education partnerships transforming Gateway’s prominence among America’s community college’s. Under his leadership Gateway has been recognized as a model of excellence by the US Department of Education, US Department of Labor and the American Association of Community Colleges.
Bryan has served on over 60 Boards for local, state, national and international organizations. His leadership service includes the American Association of Community Colleges, American Technical Education Association, National Center for Occupational Research and Development, National Occupational Testing Institute, National Coalition of Certification Centers, National Association for Career and Technical Education, International Technology Education Association, Society of Manufacturing Engineers, the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council and the national Coalition for Career Development Center. Bryan earned prominence as an expert in education and workforce development serving on the U.S. Department of Education, President’s Advisory Committee on Women and Technology and has testified as a witness for the US Congress and the White House on business and education best practices.
Bryan has been named a distinguished educator by the International Technology Education Association, the Distinguished Alumni by the University of Wisconsin-Stout and in 2023 Bryan was inducted into the American Association of Community College’s Hall of Fame.
Bryan holds his Bachelors, Masters and Education Specialist degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Stout and a Doctorate in Education from the University of Minnesota. Bryan and Lisa were married for 42 years (Lisa passed away in 2024) and their daughter Alyssa and her husband Anthony have blessed them with two amazing grandchildren Bryan and Logan.
Amiee Leavy
Amiee Leavy is the Program & Engagement Manager at the Wisconsin Technical College District Boards Association, where she leads trustee education initiatives, fosters statewide collaboration, and supports organizational leadership development. Amiee brings a deep commitment to leadership development, and stakeholder engagement, underpinned by a diverse professional background spanning corporate, education, and non-profit sectors.
Prior to joining the DBA, Amiee served as Racial Justice Director at YWCA Rock County, where she facilitated racial justice training, curriculum development, and community engagement. She has held roles in research and development at Limited Brands Inc., admissions and multicultural outreach at Beloit College, and student and family support within the School Districts of Janesville and Beloit. In addition to her professional roles, Amiee is an elected member of her local Board of Education.
Amiee holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Alcorn State University, an MBA from The Ohio State University, and has earned teaching licenses in Business Education, Broad Field Science, and Chemistry. Her work is driven by a passion for education, equity, and empowering others through inclusive leadership and collaborative engagement.
