ACCT National Legislative Summit
Washington, DC

Wisconsin State Called Meeting
Monday, February 9th, 2026 | 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM
Marriot Marquis – Room Marquis 14

Megan Stritchko (WTCS Policy Advisor) will review policy priorities and other background for the trustees during the meeting. This is also a great opportunity for college groups to meet and coordinate for their upcoming meetings.

If you have any specific questions or requests for the informational briefing, please let Amiee Leavy (DBA) or Megan Stritchko (WTCS) know.

  • Amiee Leavy – ajleavy@districtboards.org
  • Megan Stritchko – megan.stritchko@wtcsystem.edu

Amiee is in the process of scheduling statewide group meetings with Senators Baldwin and Johnson on Tuesday, February 10th. Times and Senate rooms TBD. Congressional schedules frequently change, so these times could get adjusted as we get closer to the event. Thank you in advance for your willingness to be flexible.

Colleges should request meetings with the members of the House representing their district. In general, meetings should be requested for Tuesday, February 11th between 9:00 AM and 2:30 PM. Teams should plan to arrive for appointments a minimum of thirty (30) minutes in advance to allow for bag checks and lines to go through metal detectors. If meetings overlap or timing is particularly tight, please consider splitting up to ensure timely arrival at each meeting.

Act 10 for Boards of Trustees
Kevin Terry, Esq, Michael Best & Friedrich LLP

    • We are all watching ACT 10 activity in the courts. District colleges are talking to staff about the implications of court rulings. This session is an opportunity to brief your board on Act 10, hear about recent updates, and learn about ACT 10 issues that trustees may face in their board role. Some colleges have briefed their boards in closed sessions. This session lays a great foundation for whatever you decide to do in the future.
    Board Self-Assessment & Development

Rob DeMeuse and Bill Foster, School Perceptions LLC

    • Just as our college staff engage in continuous improvement activities, boards benefit from activities to improve their own performance. Regular self-assessment, followed by action, are critical parts of meaningful board improvement. This session is designed to provide approaches, tools for assessment and strategies for follow-up.
